Dear Brothers and Sisters In Christ:

“Grace and Peace to you from God the Father of our precious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”

Introduction

Expect great things in the New Year! Follow the light!

Have you ever heard the slogan from Motel 6? It goes like this. “We’ll leave the light on for you.”

This is to help point travelers to the right place for the right price. However, once they are there, they may be very disappointed that they didn’t get what they expected.

However, there is a light you can follow and you’ll never be disappointed! When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12)

The truth of darkness

Man has become comfortable in darkness. Even though he stumbles, hurts himself, and even experience brokenness over and over again, he stays in that darkness, stumbling and fumbling around. Every now and again a flicker of light will shine in. Instead of following that light, he crawls back into the comfort of his darkness, continuing to stumble, fumble, and hurting himself. Eventually he dies in that darkness.

You might ask, “Why would anyone stay in darkness when he’s shown a light that can help him get out?” Well Jesus gave the answer: This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. (John 3:19)

Impact of Witnessing to Children about the true light

An eight-year old girl says, “I get it. Jesus moved that sin stuff that was blocking our way to heaven when he died on the cross. Now we can get to heaven.” She prayed that Jesus will become her Savior and Lord.

A ten-year old prayed to accept Jesus as Savior and Lord. He got so excited that he wanted to write down how to receive Jesus as Savior so he can share it with others.  Immediately, he wanted to be baptized.

Prayer of Faith

If you find yourself traveling in darkness, remember Jesus left the light on!  Please pray for forgiveness of your sins. Ask Jesus to become your Savior and Lord! If you need assistance, please email me at first.c@sbcglobal.net.
